Collaboration
Supporting joined-up working between GP practices, commissioners, hospitals and healthcare teams.
Quasar helped NHS teams collaborate, support research, monitor activity and share information more effectively across organisations.
The Quasar platform has now been retired following the loss of NHS funding support. However, Blue Donut Studios continues to help ICBs, hospitals, GP practices and healthcare teams develop practical web-based systems for collaboration, research, monitoring and service improvement.
Quasar was a web-based NHS collaboration and monitoring platform developed to support primary care, service improvement, innovation and research activity.
It was designed to help healthcare teams bring information together, improve communication, monitor projects and services, and make it easier for organisations to work across boundaries.
In practical terms, Quasar helped reduce the friction caused by scattered emails, spreadsheets, disconnected documents and fragmented project information.
Supporting joined-up working between GP practices, commissioners, hospitals and healthcare teams.
Helping services and projects track progress, quality, activity and key information more clearly.
Providing a digital foundation for healthcare research, innovation projects and shared initiatives.
Creating a structured space for documents, updates, reporting and cross-organisation working.
Quasar was retired because the NHS funding route that supported the platform was no longer available.
This reflected wider budgetary pressures and the difficulty many worthwhile NHS innovation projects face when ongoing support is reduced or withdrawn.
Its retirement was not a reflection of the platform’s usefulness. Quasar did valuable work and helped demonstrate what well-designed digital collaboration tools can achieve in healthcare settings.
If your ICB, hospital, GP practice, PCN or healthcare team is looking to develop a project, Blue Donut Studios can help scope, design and build a suitable web-based solution.
We support organisations that need practical, well-considered systems for service improvement, collaboration, information sharing, research support and monitoring.
If you were looking for the original Quasar service, please note that it has now been retired. If your NHS organisation would like to discuss a similar or new digital project, please use one of the options below.
If you are exploring a new NHS or healthcare project, the best next step is to book a consultation or submit an RFQ through Blue Donut Studios.
